Some Grins for Today??

Christmas is over and you have had few days to relax and unwind.  So, you sit in your easy chair, sip a cup, and watch your favorite TV shows.  Then you start to feel ashamed, because of all that you have and knowing that some are not as fortunate as you are.  Then you realize that you are having a really great day while some others may be having a very bad day.

Having a bad day, if it ain't you, can be very funny.  Don't believe me?  Well, just take a look at these examples:

I would imagine that most of you still have your Christmas tree sitting in your house.  A lot of people place a star on the top of their trees to signify the star of Bethlehem.  Some people prefer to place an angel on top of their tree.  The following link explains how this angel on top custom got started:

https://www.shortstories101.com/story/christmas-story/

These two links made me laugh and I hope they made you laugh, too.  I don't know why it is, but we can't help laughing at other people's problems and troubles.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

A Christmas Song.

Last night at almost midnight while I was laying in bed listening to the Bluegrass channel on my Sirius radio when they played the last Christmas song of the day.  I loved it!!!  It was Larry Sparks singing "Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem".  It was the most wonderful way to end Christmas day.

I don't know how many of you have heard Larry Sparks sing, but he has soft, soothing voice and it was perfect for this song.  He is also an accomplished guitar picker.  If you want to hear him sing and play this song, just Click Here.

Here are a couple pictures of Larry:

As you know, I love blue-grass music and no one does it like Larry Sparks.  He has an unique and wonderful easy listening style.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

Merry Christmas

This year, we are not "doing" Christmas, but I still want to wish that the rest of you are having a wonderful and joyous Christmas and that your New Year will find you healthy, happy, and not missing anything that you need.  Have a very, very great day, you hear?

Wondering About the Michelin Man

The Michelin Man is one of the most recognized symbols that represent a tire company.  This first picture is a modern version of him, but he got his start way back in 1894 in France when Edouard and Andre Michelin saw a stack of tires and Edouard thought it looked like a figure of an armless man.

So he made a tire man out of bicycle tires and it was named Bibendum.  Here  a poster from 1898 where his name appeared.

The above poster says,  “Cheers, the Michelin tire drinks up obstacles!”

This next picture shows a couple of Michelin men made of real tires.  As you can see, it took all sizes but in those days, the tread side was usually rounded and narrow.  When compared to modern automobile tires, these old ones look more like bicycle or motorcycle tires.

And of course, the first Michelin Man who was a real man:

It seems the above Michelin Man likes cigars, too, and is he on roller skates?  Well at least if he falls while skating, all that padding would surely protect him.  Now, keep the rubber on the road and have a safe weekend, you hear?

Some Things Confuse Me

Coming back from town today, I got behind a big Dodge dually.  It was a four wheel drive and mighty impressive.  My daughter-in-law has one, also, but not quite like this one.

Anyway, let me get to the point that confuses me.  As you can plainly see on the right rear of the tailgate, it says "4X4".  OK, to me that means it should have drive power to four of its wheels.  But this truck has six wheels and I bet all of them are driven by the power train.  Therefore, shouldn't it be called a "6X6"?

I believe everything should  be labeled honestly.  Now, maybe this truck was labeled correctly because I couldn't see if the front wheels had a driveshaft connected to it.  Maybe the rear four wheels were the only ones that had power to them. . . but I doubt that.  I am sorry I get confused so easily and I hope my confusion didn't upset your day, but I want you all to have a great day, you hear?

Ups and Downs.

Everyone has ups and downs but the temperature around here has more ups and downs than Carter has Little Liver Pills.  How many of you remember those pills or the saying.  Those pills were supposed to cure almost everything.  Those pills could be a subject for another blog posting some time in the future, or not.

The temperature is suppose to drop from a high around 80 on Saturday down to near freezing on Sunday morning.  That is about a 50 degree drop.  We do things in a big way here in Texas, even with the weather.

Got some maintenance problems to take care of.  Why does it always seem that what ever needs fixed is in an almost impossible place to get to without doing a lot of damage to everything else?  I guess the best way to tackle this job is a little at a time.  I tried to get to it today and now I feel like I have been pounded on by ten angry gorillas.  Boy does my rocker/recliner feel good today.  Now, try to outrun all those gorillas and have a great day, you hear?

Been a Few Days

If you have been looking for my daily blog posting, it didn't happen daily.  In fact it has been a few days since I last posted.  I have no excuse except I am lazy and have been enjoying an online game.  I don't know why I like to play this game so well, but I do.  Like all the games I play, I write down my highest scores and then try to beat them.  That has been getting harder and harder to do as the high scores creep up and up.  That just makes me want to play more to get an even higher score.

What is my favorite game, you may ask?  It is "mahjong chain".  And what is my highest score so far?  It is just 6132.  There are a couple of more mahjong games I like.  Although "mahjong chain" is my favorite, I like mahjong dim and mahjong dark dim.

Now you should type in "mahjong chain" and click on the first one that comes up and play it, then let me know your score and if you can beat mine.  I am sure you can because I am getting old and slow, but I still rock in my chair as fast as fast as I always did (grin).  Enjoy yourselves and have a great day, you hear?

Parrots.

Parrots are beautiful birds found in the tropics.  This first picture shows one supposedly in its native wild habitat.  Ain't he (or she) beautiful?

Here is a close up of a parrot's head:

We were at the flea market this morning and on the way home, my wife spotted a yard sale, so of course we had to stop.  She found this parrot.  No, it ain't real but it does wiggle its wings, move its head and beak, and talk to you.
I guess when you get tired of it, all you have to do is turn the switch to "off" and it will shut up.  You could also take the batteries out of it.  You don't even need to feed it, unless you count adding new batteries.  It does, however, say it is hungry.  He (or she) is sitting to the right of the TV where I can keep a watch on him, or visa versa.  Right now, as I type, he has his eye on me.  Now, I wonder if the pups will accept him and get along with him.  OK, you have yourselves a great day, you hear?

Mysteries in the Night Sky

On a clear night when I look up at the sky, I am in awe.  I know that there is so much out there that I will never see and so much more that are a mystery to me.  Today I am going to post pictures of some of those mysteries.

For the life of me, I can't even wager a guess to what these spirals are that appeared over Norway.  Maybe you can explain it to me:

And this cloud formation in the evening sky. What do you think, is it really a cloud formation or is it a portal into another dimension?  What in nature, other than a volcano could, could possibly cause this formation?  Maybe a supper updraft?

I have seen contrails caused by jet planes and know that meteors can also leave trails, but meteors come into the atmosphere in a straight line and jets, especially jet fighters are very maneuverable, but definitely not this maneuverable:

This last picture is not in our atmosphere, but is a picture of deep space.  But to me it looks like the head of Abraham Lincoln.  What do you think?

I found these pictures very interesting and I hope you did, too.  Now, have a great day, you hear?

Guest in my Bed.

My wife buys lots of things, some very useful and some not so much.  One of those "not so much" items was a woman's head.  No, not a real head but an artificial head.  So earlier today when I was walking through the house I spotted that artificial head so I picked it up and went into the bedroom.

I propped the head up against the wall at the top of the bed and turned the pillow sideways and put it under the sheet and spread.  That made it appear that the head had a body.  Here, take a look and see what it looked like:

I knew that when my wife gets a phone call, she carries the phone into the bedroom and sits on the bed while she talks, so I knew, sooner or later, that she would see the lady in the bed.  I didn't get quite the reaction that I expected.  She said that if that is the kind of gal I was attracted to, she hoped we would be very happy.  Actually,   She didn't really say that, I just figured that is what she was thinking.  Actually, I can't remember just what she said.  But one thing I do know, before bedtime, the head must go.  Now, you all have sweet dreams, you hear?

Music Instruments for Bluegrass

I believe that only a short list of musical instruments should be played in a bluegrass band.  There are all sorts of bluegrass entertainers and groups both small and large, and all seem to have their own special sound.  But back to the point of this blog posting.

Let me start out with a single bluegrass singer.  I would think that if there is only one person who sings and plays, he or she would probably choose a guitar which can be used to accompany them with interludes of picking the melody.  I guess that any type bluegrass instrument could be used alone.

What type of instruments do I think would be used.  If it is a quartet, than a guitar, a banjo, a mandolin, and a bass.  A violin, a dobro may also be used.

By all means, any brass or woodwind instruments should never be used.  Neither should a piano nor an organ be used.  It seems that most all bluegrass instruments have strings and are easily carried around (to whoever's porch they are sitting on, picking and grinning).

This is Saturday night and I am watching the bluegrass music shows on the RFDTV channel.  They also have country-western music shows on, too.  And yes, I like those also, but bluegrass is my favorite.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

Just Somehing I Noticed.

I was watching an old TV western on TV (Wyatt Earp), and like I always do, I was reading the list of names at the end of the show.  For some reason one of the names caught my attention, Jimmy James.  I don't know what he did for the show or who he was or anything about him, but I did grin a little at his name.

I would suppose that his real given name would be James so that would make him James James.  I guess his father wanted to make it easy for him to remember his full name??  OK, now that kind of makes me wonder what his middle name might be.  Could it be James, also?  That would make him J.J.J. or James James James.

Now I have a grandson whose given name is Jimmy, not James, but Jimmy.  So, maybe that actor, or whatever he was) was really named Jimmy.  Now, see how confused I can get just for wondering about things?  Now, whatever your name is, I want you all to have a great day, you hear?

Old Sayings, etc.

I watch a lot of TV westerns, most of them black and white.  I have noticed a few times the phrase "plug em" was used referring to shooting holes in someone.  Now that just doesn't make sense if you think about it.  I thought you plugged the holes after the holes where there???  Well, maybe shooting some one full of lead would be plugging there body full of lead.  Don't know, maybe you can explain that to me.

There are a lot of sayings that came from old days, like "bite the bullet".  During times of war and fighting, the field medics or your buddy didn't carry anesthetics to ease the pain and just dug out the bullet, stitched up a knife wound, or treated broken bones with out any thing for the pain except maybe some whisky and bullet to bite on so you wouldn't scream.

When I was boy, my neighbor accidentally peppered me with shot when trying to bag a cottontail for supper.  When the doc dug them out of my shoulder with only a rolled up cloth to bite on It was a burning pain but bearable.  Maybe since that area was fairly soft, but when he started digging into my heel, that was a different story.  Back in those days, they wouldn't waste any anesthetics on such a simple thing like that, especially on a kid my age.

Another saying is, "being caught red handed".  I guess if you really think about it, you could figure out that it means being caught with blood on your hands, which back then would have been from illegally butchering someone's livestock.  Now-a-days one meaning is causing the death or injury to someone.

Just one more.  How about "waking up on the wrong side of the bed"?  It now means waking up in a bad mood but way back when, the left side of the body (or anything to do with the left) was thought of as evil.  So sleeping on the left side (the wrong) side of the bed was considered sinister.  Innkeepers made sure the left side of all beds where pushed against a wall, therefore the guests had no choice but to get up on the right side of the bed.

Now tell me, which is the right and the left side of a bed?  If you are standing at the foot looking at a bed, the left would be a different side than if you were laying on your back in the same bed.  Dang, sometimes life is just so very confusing. . . . Now, I hope you all woke up on the right side of the bed and make sure you have a great day, you hear?

Wondering About the Grand Ole Opry.

Back on this date (November 28th) in 1925, the Grand Ole Opry started broadcasting folk and country music from Nashville, Tennessee.  In case you are interested, it wasn't the first broadcast show featuring that type of music.  The National Barn Dance out of Chicago, also aired on Saturday night, had started about a year before the Grand Ole Opry.  It seems to me that country western and bluegrass music, which is unique to this country, has a lot of fans, me being one of them.

I have been a fan even back in the 1950's when I was growing up.  I lived in western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh had a couple of radio stations that played country music.  When I went to college, folk music was popular with me and I got to watch in person the filming of a Hootenanny show that featured folk music.  My memory isn't all that good but I believe the Kingston Trio were the star performers.

Today, my favorite music is bluegrass and I listen to it every night after I get into bed.  Now tell me, does any one else remember those Hootenanny shows?  Does anyone like bluegrass music.  Just enjoy what ever music you like and have a great evening, you hear?

A Numbers Game.

What comes to mind when you hear the words, "Numbers Game"?  Could be the first thing that came to mind was the illegal numbers game that was or is controlled  by the Mafia or some other organization?  But that isn't what comes to my mind.

I first think of one of my favorite games, Sudoku.  I really enjoy that puzzle game.  In fact I carry a book of Sudoku games in my Jeep in case I have to spend time waiting on my wife while she shops at Michael's or Hobby Lobby of if I have to wait for service at a doctor's office or auto repair shop or where ever I have to wait for someone or something.  Do you want some examples?  If so, there are a lot of sites on the internet with Sudoku games.  Here is one of them:
 www.websudoku.com

If you try them or have worked Sudoku puzzles before, let me know how you like them.  I guess you could say they are sort of a numbers crossword or crossnumbers puzzle.  Yes, I know that "crossnumbers" is not a real word but this is my blog and I will use it if I want to (grin).  I hope you don't lose any sleep nor pull any of your hair out trying to figure them out, but have a great day, you hear?

Horse Show

Went to the Farm Show Grounds to watch our daughter-in-law's little girl show a horse in the horse show.  In was unseasonably cold and windy, but watching that little gal with that huge horse somehow warmed our hearts and our bodies.  OK, I suppose you want some pictures, so here they are:

This next one is a little dark but I wanted to get her contestant number which she wore on back:

Here she is with the horse she showed.  You can see how happy she looks.  She really enjoys being around horses:

There were two ladies judging.  They both would check out each horse.  There is only one judge in this picture:

And off she goes walking the horse around the arena and then back to the center for the judges to check them out one more time up close:

Here she is with her first place blue ribbon.  The couple behind her are her other grandparents.  They are a really nice couple:

The champ, showing off her blue ribbon and eating a victory donut:

Well, as you can see, my wife and I had a really great morning.  Now, you all have a great day no matter what you do, you hear?

Different Hats for Different Folks

There are all kinds, shapes, and sizes of hats and caps.  There are women's hats and men's hats and kids hats and baby hats and all types of different head coverings around the world.  There are sports hats, graduation hats, etc.

The first picture is of men's hats, nine different styles:

And in years gone by, if a man wanted to dress up for the evening, he would wear one of these top hats:

And of course women's hats:

Some more men's hats and men's caps:

This next one has hats, caps, helmets, etc.:

OK, this last one has lots of different hats and caps for lots of different uses.
OK, how many of all these hats shown in this blog posting have you worn at one time or another?  I have worn quite a few of them in the past.  Now, I tip my hat to you and hope you have a great evening, you hear?

Update With Pictures.

Yesterday I posted a blog about my grandson and his son, my great grandson.  I gave a link to Facebook where my grand-daughter-in-law had posted pictures.  Today I am going to post the pictures that I took.  This first picture is my grandson holding my great grandson:

And another one, only in this picture, baby Lane is giving us his serious looking frown.  I wonder what he is thinking?  Maybe he is thinking "enough is enough, what are these old folks trying to do to me?"

This last picture is a family picture of Daddy, Mommy, and Baby Lane.  I guess we wore him out.

Sorry, don't want to bore you with my family pictures, but I just had to show off (again) pictures of the third and fourth generation of my wife's and my family.  I wish my son could have lived to see his grandson.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

Great Grandson and Family.

Our Grandson was at our son's place and we got to see how much our great grandson has grown.  My grandson will be working with my son, who is my grandson's uncle.  Anyway, they will be working together on a project and I was glad that he brought along his wife and son.  I didn't have my camera with me but my great grandson's mom took some pictures and posted them on Facebook.

You can go to the link below which will show the pictures she took.  The first one is me holding my great grandson with my grandson by our side and my wife on the far right:

The second picture is us three guys.  The third picture caught baby Lane in a big yawn.  Guess we old fogies are boring to the younger
ones.

The last picture shows baby Lane's aunt holding him.  He sure is cute.  If you remember my older blog about the first time I saw baby Lane, I wore out the word "cute", for sure.  I had a great evening seeing him again.  Now, go out and look at that really, really bright super moon.  It sure is bright here.  That may help you have a great evening, you hear?

My Jeep Let Me Down

My Jeep let me down today.  Well, to be more explicit, the Jeep's battery let me down.  I had parked near Michaels where my wife went shopping and I went into a nearby Kroger's to pick up a few things.  It was great timing, just as I got back and into the Jeep, my wife showed up.  So, we drove across the street to the shopping center where Hobby Lobby was located and she went in there and I waited in the Jeep.  No radio playing and nothing electrical turned on.  Had the windows down loving the not so hot breeze.  When my wife returned, I turned the key in the ignition switch to start the Jeep and nothing happened except some fast, loud clicking.

My wife called a wrecker and repair service and in no time, one of their trucks showed up.  He checked and said my battery had died.  He jump started my Jeep and I followed him four blocks east and a couple of blocks north.  While it was in the shop, I also had the oil changed and serviced.  That pretty much was our afternoon, sitting in the waiting room waiting for the repairs to be finished.  Got home before supper time.  All is well that ends well. . . Now, you all have a great evening, you hear?

Got a Few Questions.

Just started wondering about a few things.

1.      What is the opposite of right?

What is the first thing that pops into your head?  Did you think the answer was "wrong" or did you think the answer was "left", or did you think of something different?  There is no wrong answers in this test.  Don't look at my answers until you have come up with your own answers.

2.       Is the speed of light always constant?

No.  The speed that light travels depends on the medium that it is traveling through.  For example, the speed of light in water is only about three quarters of what it is in a vacuum.

3.      How high is the sky?

Well now the answer to this question depends on what you call the sky, and yes, there are different definitions of the sky.  Most life doesn't exist above about three miles although the sky extends to around 250 miles above the Earth depending on location.  The distance is a little less at the poles and a little greater at the equator.  OK, I still don't know how high the sky is.  Seems I remember a song which asked that question.

4.      Has a blind person ever fallen in love at first sight?

Maybe at first touch or when first heard or at first smell, but not at first sight.  If there are any blind couples reading this, please answer (grin, grin, grin).

5.      A broker makes investments for other people.  If you are broke and your friend is broker than you are, does that mean that your friend is the one who should invest your money, since he is a broker.

It would worry me a bit to have all my money put in the hands of someone who is broker than. . . whatever.

6.      There was an airplane crash and every single person on board died, but somehow two people survived.  How was this possible?

The two who survived were not single, they were a married couple.

7.       Does anyone know, in Denmark, what the word Svangerskabsforebyggendemiddel means?

It is a Condom.  After the time it would take you to figure out how to pronounce that word, you both would be out of the mood. . .

OK, that is enough of that for awhile.  Don't forget to let us know how many of them you got right.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

My wife and I voted today, did you?  If not, don't complain about any of the results. . . . have a great day, you hear?

Going to Try to Make You Grin.

Today I am just going to try to make you grin by posting some funny stuff that I found on the internet.  These made me grin, so I decided to shear them with you.

OK, hope you got a smile on your face by now.  Now, I am going to sneak out of here without letting those stupid people see me, so don't tell them where I went.  OK?

Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

Three Days Late. . .

I wish I had found these pictures a few days ago.  They would have been perfect to post on Halloween.  Oh well, better late than never. . . or maybe some of you would have preferred not to see them at all.  These pictures are not for the squeamish, that is for sure.

This is the site that tells the story.  You can click on it to go there or just Google "mummies of Guanajuato".

The Grisly Mummy Museum in Guanajuato, Mexico

In the 1860s, a silver-mining town in Mexico began burying their dead in a crypt…only to discover 10 years later that they had inadvertently mummified their loved ones.

These mummies died during a cholera outbreak in 1833.  You can also read more about it here:

OK now, if you can after viewing this posting, have a great day, you hear?

Surprise at the Hummingbird Feeder.

We have multiple bird feeders and also offer the birds suet.  They seem to enjoy it.  I also spread some bird seed on the ground for the doves and other birds who prefer not to get their food out of the bird feeders.

We get all kinds of visitors to the feeders.  Yes there are quite a few different species of birds from large crows down to small hummingbirds, but we also get squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, opossums, etc.

In this next picture, I want you to take notice of the step stool below the hummingbird feeder.  I need to step up on that to hang the feeder.

The other night after dark, I went out to get the feeders.  I stepped up on the stool and reached up to the railing with my free hand to help steady myself as I hung the hummingbird feeder.  Something didn't feel right.  It was cool and cylindrical.  Yep, I had grabbed hold of a snake.  I don't know who was more surprised, it or me.  It took off and I have no idea where it went or what kind of snake it was.  I was getting a little sleepy when I went out to retrieve the feeders, but that sure did wake me up.  Things like that are not at all bad.  They wake you up, keep you alert for a few days, and give me something to write about on my blog when I have no other inspirations.  I only wish I could have taken a picture.  I guess you will just have to use your imagination.  Now, don't accidently pick up any snakes and have a great day, you hear?

Idiotic Stuff

I may not be a complete idiot, but I do get a laugh out of idiotic stuff.  OK, I suppose you want some examples, right?  Well, here are a few that I found on the internet:

"Most lies about blondes are false."  - Headline
OK, does that mean that "most lies are true"?

"Golden, Ripe, Boneless Bananas, 39 Cents A Pound."  - Advertisement
Dang, but I prefer mine on the bone.

"Fiction writing is great, you can make up almost anything."
- Ivana Trump, on her first novel
And all this time I thought "fiction" was all true.

"Push this button in case anything happens."
-Elevator in Osaka, Japan
Well now, that covers everything.  That button must be worn out by now, don't you think?

"Cars will not have Intercourse on this Bridge."
-Tokyo, Japan traffic sign
I guess the cars should find a more private place. . .??

"Lack of brains hinders research."  - Headline
You think??  Lack of brains hinders a lot of things, but in this case, they need sample brains to study.

"You know the one thing that's wrong with this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say." - Bill Clinton
And to think another Clinton is running for president??

"Deals work best when each side gets something it wants from the other." -Donald Trump
And a view from the other side of the isle.

"And now the sequence of events in no particular order."
- Dan Rather
     What???

"It's like deja-vu all over again." - Yogi Berra, Baseball player
     I always liked Yogi's sayings.

"It isn't pollution that is hurting the environment, it's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."  - Dan Quayle
Well now that I know that impurities in air and water are not pollution.  I feel so much better now.

************

I think that is enough idiotic sayings for one day, or week, or month, or year, or. . .

Try to get this post out of your mind so that you can have a great day, you hear?

Old Song and Sayings.

Chickery chick, cha-la, cha-la
Check-a-la romey in a bananika
Bollika, wollika, can't you see

Nice Weather

Not up to much.  Just enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having.  It has been unseasonably cool here.  This morning, it actually got down into the upper 40's but then warmed up to 77 degrees.  Once that sun gets up a ways, it warms up real fast.  Tomorrow is supposed to be similar to today.  Then it is to get back up in the high 80's or so.

I don't have much to say today, but I want you all to have a great day, you hear?

Yum, Yum, Good!!!

OK, I found something that I really, really like the taste of.  You see, I like pickles, especially when added to a good sandwich.  Yep, they sure do make any sandwich taste better.  I remember back when I was a kid, my Grandma made home made pickles, some  where sweet dills.  Now, they had such a wonderful taste but it has been so long since I have had any of her pickles, I am not sure exactly what they did taste like.

The other day, we were grocery shopping and I spotted a jar of Jalapeno Bread-N-Butter pickles.  Oh dang are they good!!!  I ate some on a sandwich just a few minutes ago.

The above picture I found on line, but the ones we bought were Del Dixie.  Let me tell you, these are worth trying.  Hey, if you don't like them, send them to me (grin).

My Dad was a Heinz salesman and we were never out of ketchup, pickles, soup, etc.  Did you know that back then, Heinz also made peanut butter.  It was the kind that came with peanut oil on top and you had to stir and stir and stir until the whole jar was creamy.  Anybody but me remember that?  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

Feeding Our Dogs.

I have heard veterinarians and kennel owners say that to improve a dogs appetite, skip feeding them one day a week.  Our dogs wouldn't stand for that!!  Like I told you before, my wife cooks for our pups and they get good, wholesome home cooked meals every day.  They get fed every day at or very near eleven in the morning.  At ten, the oldest pup sits and stares at my wife.  That pup is very intelligent and either she or her stomach can tell time.  It is uncanny for sure.

The three of them know their places to eat.  No, we don't set a table for them but they do have their assigned seats, so to speak.  The oldest gal eats beside the water dish, the boy eats out on the screened in porch and after he is finished, he goes out in the dogs' fenced in yard.  The youngest pup, eats inside her "house", but with the door open.  As soon as their food is cooked and cools off, they all run to their places in happy anticipation of what is to come.  They are never disappointed, but that doesn't keep them from begging for more.  Yes, our dogs eat better than some people.  Talk about a dogs life!!!  Our dogs have a good life whether they know it or not.  They seem to love us and also seem thankful, at least we would like to think so.  Now you all enjoy either your human life or your dog's life, which ever you choose, but always have a great day, you hear?

Thinking About Old Posts

I got thinking about some of my old blog postings and went back and started reading a bunch of them.  This one that I found was posted six years ago.  It is fun going back to old blogs, reading them, and reading the comments, too.  Some of those who commented back then are not around anymore.

Just in case you want to read it, too, here is a link you can lick on to go to it.

A Few More Grins, I Hope.

Today, I am going to try to put a grin on your face at the least and a big belly laugh at the best.  I searched the internet to try and find some funny stuff, and here is some of what I found.  Have fun:

At the mall, my five-year-old grandson joined the other children in line waiting to sit on the Easter Bunny’s lap. When it was his turn, Jake didn’t move; he just stared.
“Don’t you want to sit on the
bunny’s lap?” I asked.
“No!” he shouted. “There’s
a man in his mouth!”

Wow!!  A carnivorous Easter Bunny.

Girl: Ick! Why does this sandwich have bacon on it?
Friend: You ordered a BLT.
Girl: Whaaaat? I thought the B stood for bread.

I guess it should have been called a BBLT.

We were inspecting several lots of grenades. While everyone was concentrating on the task at hand, I held up a spare pin and asked, “Has anyone seen my grenade?”

I bet that sent everybody scattering in all directions.

“Poor Old fool,” thought the well-dressed gentleman as he watched an old man fish in a puddle outside a pub. So he invited the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he’d humor the old man and asked, “So how many have you caught today?”
The old man replied, “You’re the eighth.”

Quite an accomplished fisherman, if you ask me.  I would like to see the one that got away, though.

Boy does this cartoon bring back memories.  That is exactly what my Mom made sure of, that I never left the house without clean underwear on.  I bet some of you in my age bracket had the same experience, too.

All you husbands reading this blog, take heed of the above cartoon and don't., I say DON'T ever say what that poor deceased husband in that cartoon said.  Lie if you have to.

OK, I have looked and looked and looked and I, too, can't find the "any" key on my keyboard, either.  Check yours and see if it has the "any" key.  That should keep you busy for awhile.  The time it takes you is inversely proportionate to your intelligence (grin).

OK, enough is enough.  I don't want you to get sick of these funnies, so I will stop here.  Hope you got a few chuckles out of them.  Now, have a great day, you hear?
