Wondering if it is time to get supplies.

I am getting very low on two very important things.  Let me think hard here as to which is the most important.  Last evening I went to the freezer to get my nightly portion of Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream and there was not much left in the half gallon.  And yes, they still give you a full half gallon unlike other ice cream makers.  So, to be on the safe side and just in case I couldn’t make it to the store today, I divided what was left and only enjoyed half of it.  That way I have a portion, slightly smaller than normal, left for tonight.  Now, if I don’t get to the store today, it will become an emergency tomorrow!!

The next thing is that I only have one more pill left of my blood pressure medicine.  If I don’t get the prescription refilled today, I will have none to take tomorrow.  Lucky for me that the same place I get my ice cream is also the same place where I get my prescription refilled.  As it looks, I have two or three other places that I have to go today, so it seems it will become an emergency tomorrow.

Of course, the biggest question that I have is why does the very last tiny bite of ice cream left always taste the very best???  The last bite in the bowl, you know, the one where you have to scrape and scrape to get a few molecules; why does it always taste the best and the sweetest?  Now, I eat a very, very healthy diet and the only vice I have is my Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, so don’t get the idea that I am a junk food junky or eat a lot of sweets.  There is no sugar in this house, except what is in my ice cream and some 70 percent cocoa chocolate that I take a small bite after meals.  I don’t eat cookies, cakes, pies, and such.  So I feel that my love for my special ice cream is not going to kill me.  But if it does, I can’t think of a better way to go!!  Now you all have a great day and have some ice cream and think of me, you hear?

  1. Shoot, the only problem you have as I see it is , when to leave for the store? Now and get it out of the way or later , in the heat of the day when you need a break?

  2. Ice cream is good for you and can fit in very well with a healthy diet. I love chocolate/vanilla marble ice cream myself.

  3. I vote on getting the ice cream first! Blood pressure meds are second...everything else can fall later on the list!

  5. HermitJim gave a report on ice cream, made my day. I also eat 2 or 3 dark choc nuggets with almonds. How can they be bad for you? BUT, ready for watermelon now.

  6. When I was a kid my mother would send me down to the cellar to get a half gallon of ice cream out of the freezer for Sunday dinner dessert, however when it was retrieved it always had some ice cream missing!

Eventually, my father was discovered to be the source of the loss, because he forgot to remove the spoon from the half gallon one day!

After this revelation, my brother and I, not willing that my father should suffer guilt alone, helped him out! We used his hidden 'Cellar spoon'! The ice cream supply went down pretty fast after that!

  8. Ben, had a busy day today. Wife went for a treatment, then down to the Woodlands to a vitamine shop that is the only place to get certain things, then to the RV repair place to give them a check so they will order parts for the rest of the repairs and then I took my Jeep in for service.

Gypsy, thanks, now I don't feel guilty about eat I g it.

Hermit, I see you got your priorities right.

Sixbears, we can always stretch it one more day.

Trouble, one of my wife's docs told her to eat water melon. It is good fora lot of things.

Ernest, sure nice of you and your brother to help out your dad (grin) by helping yourself to the ice cream.

  9. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Me, I scream for mint choc-chip. Tastes even better on a hot day if it's frozen hard as a rock. Better head for the store.

  11. Oh, DD. Which vitamin shop in The Woodlands? What do they have there that can't be bought at Herbal Connection in Conroe? Please do tell.

  12. My wife did an on-line search of the inventory of the shops in Conroe and what she was looking for didn't turn up. A broader search showed the place along I-45 on the east side across from the Woodlands had it. It is not hard to get to from my place.
