Wondering about wild grapes

A Couple of back yard pictures.

The other day I saw a couple of butterflies on the Mimosa Tree blooms but by the time I got in the house to get the camera and back out they were gone.  Then I spotted one up high, so I reached way up and snapped a picture.  Wasn’t sure if I got it or not since I was holding the camera way above my head and couldn’t see the screen.  It came out better than I expected, at least after I trimmed it off a bit.

Yesterday morning I noticed some trumpet vine blooms hanging down over the wild grape vines next to the dogs yard.  The sun had not touched them yet so they don’t show up real bright but I thought that you would like to see a couple shots of them:

My son came up to see us yesterday with a big 17 pound black rabbit on a leash.  The dogs just loved that, so we went out and sat in the motor-home and had a good visit.  Got places to go and things to do, so you all have a safe and happy day today.  You know, being Monday and all and knowing that some of you people are still working, enjoy it anyway.  Getting old and retired isn’t what it is built up to be.  Have a good day now, you hear?

  1. Lovely pictures, DD.
A 17 lb rabbit on a leash, what a lovely quiet pet. But you didn't take a picture for us. I expect it is housebroken too. I know they will use a litter box.

  2. Beautiful Mimosa tree.. Don't you just love the aroma when they bloom? I lost my transplanted one,the small one, the Big one is blooming like crazy now also. Bees and butterflies all around it.

  3. You had that rabbit there and no pic?? What are you thinking? lolololol. On a leash? wow.

That trumpet vine grows wild around here too. (not my yard)

  4. Penney, I don't know if it is house broke, but doubt it. He raises, sells, and shows them, only has seventeen now but had a lot more than that. It sat on his lap with its head tucked under his chin.

Ben, most around here have already bloomed, this one is a little late.

Trouble, never have a camera in my pocket when I need one and don't think about taking pictures until the event is past.

  5. We called them powder puff trees when we were little. Nice pics!!!

  6. Yeah, a rabbit can be house trained. My SIL had one that was.

  7. Mizdeb, now I like that name, will have to use it from now on.

Trouble, I knew a fellow who had one that was house trained. This one is not.

  8. Nice. Things have just started getting green up here. The lawn is ready for its first mowing of the season. Actually, it's a bit overdue, but the rain would have to stop first.
