Wondering what its next life will be.

I am kind of sad this morning.  I have an appointment to take my Class-C down to PPL Moterhomes to put it on their lot for them to sell it.  It is sort of like losing an old friend or taking your pet to the vet to be put down.  No, actually it is like taking your pet to the pound in hopes a wonderful, loving family will adopt it.  So, this morning may be our last ride together.  Actually, I hope it does sell and to some family who will have as much fun with it as we did.  It was a good RV and of course my wife and I hate to see it go.
OK, I got to get going, so you all have a great day.

  2. Sometimes you have to let something to go to make room for something else.

  3. This is a RV right? not a cat or dog right? human beings are far more precious and cats & dogs too, but a RV really????? It is early here and for the life of me I could never get upset over selling a material item at all..things will come and go but you dadblasted cannot replace human beings, can for cats and dogs, (rescue) and to me why get a hair up over a material item...I am sure the people who were in the paths of those tornados are not complaining over their homes, possessions, but I am sure they are mourning the loss of their family members and people they loved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!just saying!!!!!!! You RV will find a new owner and you will be happy about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Yeah Dizzy, I know what ya talk'n bout. When I look back at old photos of "Alice" run'n round the country, jump'n up and down, chas'n stiks and stuff, I get all teary eyed too. She was a good old gal an' I miss her. Got a good trade in though on "Sally da house".

  5. No problem with you feeling sad at closing a chapter of life. Doesn't take away the excitement of the next chapter any. I have issues with transitions. That's why I keep the trappings of my old lives in storage in MO while I'm here in Honduras. I'm trying to get better at letting the 'things' go, even though they represent good times in the past.

  6. Don't ya just love it when someone that posts the negatives has to be Anonymous????? Has to hide???
I know what you mean DD, had houses, cars, etc, that i felt that way about. It's not the material thing,,it's the memories that go with them.

  7. I had to sell my car last weekend, to pay bills. I had it ten years, and it was a great, great car. When I cleaned it out to sell it, I found mementoes from old trips, and even the manual to my first granddaughter's carseat, the one she came home from the hospital in....in that car. It was very hard.

But I sold it to a young guy who's wife just had a baby in February, because he wanted something safe for her to drive with the baby. I could think of no better future for my little Altima.

  8. I still miss my house in Western North Carolina that I sold in 2008. I miss the furnishings, most of which I bought new and suited me to a "T". I have always understood that people are more important than things, but I don't have to apologize for feeling sentimental about some material things either.

  9. Ben, nope, just cleaned it out and washed the dust off of it and swept it out. This morning I hooked the Jeep up to it and off we went.

Sixbears, you got that right and that is exactly what I am doing. The one I have left will not go all the places I had the class-c.

Anon, It was the fun, the people we met while on the road, the gold prospecting, the class reunion, the family reunions, etc that we wouldn’t have gotten to do without it. I guess it is the memories.

BB, You hit the nail on the head, I still miss my 1957 Chevy Convertible and all the fun I had with and in it. It would turn 8000 rpms and looked sharp!!

Shadow, the older I get the harder change is and it seems the more of it is and will happen. The trick is to make the best of it, and I will. I have felt bad about all the vehicles I have sold, each holds special memories.

Trouble, you got that right and I do put more importance and love to the living creatures. That is why we cook special meals for are three dogs.

Kris, it is good it went to someone who appreciates it and is starting a new family. I know what you mean about finding mementoes, there is a lot of places to find those mementoes hidden in a motor-home.

Gypsy, my sentimentalism is all over now. Just hoping it sells quickly. I put a low price on it, so it should.
