Wondering about wild grapes

Think of the old west and the life that those "dollar a day and found" cowboys lived.  They all slept in bunk houses if they were lucky to be close enough at night fall, or line shacks way out on the range.  Before there was access to railroads every where, they had to drive the cattle hundreds of miles to rail heads to be loaded onto trains.  It was a really tough job, not only because it was a dusty, dirty, sweaty job where you worked, ate, and slept on the trail with a lot of smelly cattle and smellier cowboys, there were no modern conveniences.  Water was in short supply and in a lot of areas the only water available was what they could carry with them, so nightly baths were out of the question.  So when they finally got to town, clean up was in order and a long, leisurely bath was the first thing on the list.

Now you couldn't expect a splurging cowboy to just use plain soap and water for his bath.  Heck no!!  He wanted something special, like a nice long bubble bath.  So, here is a picture of what I saw at the flea market last weekend:

On my way home the other day, I was stopped at a red light right behind this vehicle.  The owner of this car has a sense of humor or a mean streak, not sure which but would rather think it was humor.

In case you have trouble reading it, I will enlarge it a bit more:

That's all for today folks.  I got an appointment with the blood specialist today.  I am going to tell him that I will not be coming back anymore, since the last time he said that there was nothing he could do for me and that my condition would eventually kill me.  So why go back?  Just to add to his bank account?  I think not!!  Now, you all have a great day and hope the above pictures gave you chuckle to help you have a great day, you hear?

  1. I hope your blood tests indicate that you'd have no need for his services too.

  2. Good for you to want to end the endless visits to someone who can't change the way things are anyway. I'm about to that point - if it doesn't make any difference in the outcome, then I don't want any more scans and such. I'm trying to eat the most nutritious diet I can, but there is a lot of conflicting info out there about diet as well. At least I'm fed and happy. Good luck.

  3. Jill, I am no better, but I am no worse. Since the blood count didn't change, I don't see the need for him, especially since there is nothing they can do to treat it anyway.

  4. Gypsy, I have already lived over ten years longer than my father. I am thankful for that and try to enjoy the time I have left and make good use of it. I am not planning on bowing out just yet, but who knows. Only God knows.

  6. Trouble, yep, we do. He wanted to see me again in a couple of months and I said no way!! I told him 6 months at the earliest, and he agreed. So I go back Nov. thirteenth, a good luck day.

  7. Thank you for enlarging the second photo...could not see it with my poor vision.

Got a good chuckle out of both.

  8. Dizzy -
Love the bubble bath - my 2 year old grandson has just discovered these bubbles and thinks it's a hoot! Reminds me of the "Snowman Poop" that's given out at Christmas time (bags of mini-marshmallows). You're always good for a chuckle or a pondering about something - always enjoy coming by for a visit ~

  9. MsB, ain't modern pictures amazing. There are enough pixels in the file to be able to do a lot with them. I spent quite a few minutes taking the news print out of the picture and realized it was not worth the time.

Baby Sis, I never heard of Snowman Poop. Love it!! I guess maybe that is because we don't get snow down this way. Of course I haven't been buying marshmellows. BTW, just wait until your granson starts drinking beer and eating junk and then I bet he will have farting contests (grin).
