Wondering about wild grapes

There was a crooked man. . .

There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

Remember that poem?  Well, so far I am not a crooked man and I don't live in a crooked house, but I do have a crooked power pole.

And a view from the other side:

What happened, you may ask?  Well, a little while back the power company hired contractors to trim the trees and vines and any such stuff away from their lines.  When they came in here, they must have pulled too hard on the vines and when they saw what they did they just quit, leaving half of the line from the transformer to my pole untrimmed.  So, I guess I will try to finish their trimming job and then straighten my pole.  I think I will get a treated 2x4 and use it as a brace after I tie a rope around the pole and winch it back to vertical.  Not a huge job, but one that needs done and one that needs done right.

You all have a great day now, you hear?

  1. Boy, be careful when you straighten up that pole. Might not take much to pull it over!

Didn't do a very good job, did they?

  3. Why isn't the power comp responsible?

  4. Maybe the power company can send someone to straighten it out?

  5. HJ, no they didn't. I have never had a complaint about our power company and still don't, since this was done by brush cutting contractors.

Jimkabob, we may still be on the dry side, but catching up.

Trouble, They are not responsible for the pole I put in and it would be very difficult to prove that their vendors did it. It happened quite awhile ago, I wrote a blog post and posted picture back on October 4th.

MsB, It shouldn't be that hard to do. Anyway, I would rather do it myself. They are not suppose to work on the pole that I own and put up originally.

  7. Jill, that is good advise. Maybe I could lay on the couch for a week or two and "plan" it?
