Wondering about my wife's followers.

We bloggers wouldn't bother blogging if it were not for our followers.  If no one read our blogs nor commented on them, it would soon become a chore with no pleasure at all.  I love people and just love to talk, so blogging gives me a chance to chat with people that I would not otherwise have met.  Of course I met a few bloggers who were instrumental in getting me started.  I met John of "The Field Lab", and David of "Terlingua or Bust", and Billy Bob of "Billy Bob's Travels", and Penney of "pennys-tuppence" and since then many, many more.  Also, the late Ben Woods of "An Older Texan Remembers" had a lot to do with it, too.  I would like to meet all my blogging friends in person and hope to do that if possible.  Some I may never meet, like Keith of "The Flying Tortoise, who lives in New Zealand and many more. I now have 76 followers and hope I can please all of them and want to thank all who take the time to read my ramblings.  I have had 104550 page views and have posted 784 blog postings.  That is an average of over 133 views per post.  Yes, I know some are just automated search engines, but I am humbled by the numbers.

My wife has followers, also, even though she has never posted a blog nor even wants to.  Let me explain, every time she heads to the kitchen she has three dogs that follow her.  If they are all sleeping and she rattles a bag in the kitchen, they magically appear at her feet.  You see, she cooks for our four footed fuzzy members of our household.  They have never eaten store bought dog food except for Milkbone Dog Biscuits which they sparingly get as treats or bribes.  Our pups are a major part of our lives and are with us almost all the time.  So you see, you don't have to blog to have followers.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

  3. I remember that you said your wife cooks for the pups, but I forgot the menu. How about sharing it again?

I seem to gain a few new followers each week and then lose them again in a few days! Strange!

Guess we can't please everyone all the time, right?

  4. Trouble, Maybe we can visit a State Park or other RV park near you. Then we can chat in person.

Ted, email on the way. It is about prospecting.

HJ, She starts out cooking ground turkey and when it is about done, she adds vegetables, pasta, a little olive oil, etc. to make it well rounded. She never adds anything that would upset them and it tastes good, I know. . . blog wise, yes, they come and go and some stick around. I am loyal to the ones I read.

    1. Hi DD. Do you give your furry friends vitamin tablets, too? Sometimes with a home-cooked diet, they need to get their doggie vitamins and minerals, too.

My 17 1/2 year old Misty is fed organic dog food for her breakfast and dinner. Then she gets a little people food, like whatever meat and veggies I am eating. Her late 'Dad' must have fed her at the table, as I get a quiet little bark, if I forget to put a morsel of my dinner on her plate on the floor every now and then. At her age, I don't mind spoiling her a bit, as she is my treasure.

At bedtime she has "Senior Heart Support with CoEnzyme Q10", there is nothing wrong with her heart, I just had them, so she might as well have 1/2 tablet, as there are a lot of vitamins and minerals in them. Also she has 1/2 a Senior Dog Vitamin, and Turkey and Veggie "Pet Greens Biscuits". Both the cat and dog look forward to their bedtime vitamin treats.

I hope to keep her healthy as long as I can.

      Happy Tails, and Trails, Penny

  6. Thanks Keith, I usually post what I want and then wonder why I don't get any comments (grin). I sure do thank every one that does comment. That makes writing it worthwhile.

  7. Dogs are the most loyal followers a person could ever have.

  8. I think my son should've named our puppy Shadow instead of Sheila. I cannot go from room to room without her following.

Jill, our one dog has to be next to my wife at all times.

  10. DD -
Your wondering and ramblings in the am comes some after my visit to my Bubba Hermit Jim. I don't often comment, but I'm out here! Love to see you meet up with Hermit and Billy Bob somewhere - see who can tell the biggest tale and get the biggest laugh. Bubba is sometimes light on stories, but has got our Daddy's low, deep chuckle that can get anybody a-grinnin'. And my cat is a follower like your dogs - if I sit, he's on my lap, even if he has to sneak to get there!

Have a good 'un - temps feel reall nice to go along with that Harvest Moon, huh?

  11. Baby Sis, thank you ever so much for your compliment. It is a real honer to be mentioned in the same breath as Hermit Jim and Billy Bob. They are my heroes!! Met Billy Bob but not Jim. I did invite him to the NHRA top fuel drag races last Spring but he couldn't make it.

That statement is not true for everyone. I have no followers and receive no comments, occasionally I'll get an email. I write my Journal/Blog as a dairy for myself and leave it open for anyone to read that may want to.
I think people got pleasure from writing in their diaries long before there was such a thing as a computer, the Internet or Blogger.

  13. I'm not a 'follower' in the technical sense of the word as I just hop over here and read from the list of blogs I have on my own blog. So, folks are reading even if they aren't 'following'. Goes with the non-reading followers you have with 4 feet.

  14. My blog is more like a journal kind of like Ed's comment above. However I do enjoy when people leave me comments...sometimes the comments are better than my posts :D
