And a later picture after he got older:
Every one's favorite character from that comic strip was the dog, Snoopy. Snoopy aged over the years, but still had the that big grin on his face and about the same personality. Here is a picture showing Snoopy's changes through the years:
Snoopy had quite an imagination and pretended he was a WWI pilot and his dog house was his Sopwith Camel fighter plane:
Aaaah, ain't life beautiful? The both of them look relaxed and happy:
I am sure you all remember Charles Shultz. He entertained us for quite a while. BTW, how many of you know that his nickname was Sparky? I didn't. Now, I hope you all are grinning at the memories of Peanuts and Charlie Brown and Snoopy and. . . well, just have a great day, you hear?
Poor Charlie Brown - he never to figure out about Lucy and her tricks.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he was too smart, that Charlie Brown. There was a Charles Brown in my class at school.
DeleteWe visited the Charles Shultz museum in California a few years ago... learned a lot about "Sparky" and that there wouldn't be any "reruns" of the cartoon. Remember the little girl that would fall asleep in school? Well, he actually did research on that... and in his cartoons, he told (in cartoon-talk) the child got more sleep at night and quit snoozing off during class. It seems Sparky was quite a complex person.
ReplyDeleteYes he was, along with coming up with all that humor and artistic ability.
DeleteSaw the Charlie Brown Valentine special last night.... makes me smile. Love the Great Pumpkin one though the best!
