Wandering to the Flea Market and a Night Flower.

My wife decided to set up at the Flea Market this morning so she went through the house picking things to take and I loaded them into the Jeep.  The weather was perfect, a beautiful sunny day and didn't get too hot.  But there was very few buyers there today.  Our buddy Rich set up too, and he did better than we did.  My wife found something expensive that she couldn't live without.  Here is a picture of Rich standing along side my wife's purchase:

Ole Granny was supposed to operate on either batteries or could be plugged into the AC power.  It had a power cord with an adapter on the plug end.  Something must be wrong because so far it doesn't do anything but stand there.  I took her apart into three pieces, loaded her up in the Jeep, and brought her home.  She is still in the Jeep, maybe we will take her back tomorrow and see if the vendor that my wife bought her from knows how to make it work.

Last night I noticed that our night blooming flowers were blooming.  I told my wife and she suggested we take a couple of pictures.  So here they are:

Now don't you think that they are beautiful?  I sure do!!

OK, now I hope you all had a great day today and I want you to have a great afternoon and evening, you hear?

  1. Does that flower have an exquisite aroma? Does it bloom often or maybe once only 100 years or so? It's gorgeous no matter what!

    1. It has no aroma that I can detect. From what I can find on the Internet, it is a Epiphyllum Orchid Cactus Night Blooming Cereus. Here is a link:

    2. Oh yes, I am not a hundred yet and I have seen it bloom many times. I do not know for sure but I would guess it blooms at least once a year.

    1. Never saw anything like her. After we get her running, I will let you all know what all she does.

    1. Thanks, they are beautiful but don't last very long. Granny? Yep.

  4. Definitely want to know what "granny" does. To have that around, would have to be more than good.

    1. We finally got "granny" home and until I fix her, she just stands there staring at you with those big blue eyes. She is suppose to just rock back and forth and maybe sideways, too. I will not know until I get her to work. There is a counter-balance weight that spins around and changes her center of gravity, making her move. If I get her working, I will post a video clip.
