I like scary movies, but they have to be plausible. The more plausible they are the scarier they are because you realize that it could happen to you. I decided to search the Internet and see what I could find. I found a lot of lists but I am only going to use this one, http://www.infoplease.com/spot/halloweenmovies1.htm. Here are the ones listed there:
The Silence of the Lambs (1961)
The Exorcist (1973)
The Shining (1980)
Jacob's Ladder (1990)
The Mummy (1932) [ Not the 1999 remake]
Here is a picture from Nosferatu:
Since I have only seen half of these, I can't say which are the scariest. Psycho held me in suspense, but it didn't frighten me. What makes a movie scary to me is one that keeps you wondering and then, Wham!!, it hits you with a surprise that almost knocks you off your seat. That, is what I call a good scary movie.
I read that Nosferatu, which came out in 1922, had such remarkable animalistic makeup that hasn't been replicated since, even with all the modern technology. OK, now you all tell me what movies scared you, if any. I hope I didn't make you scared trying to remember movies that did scare you, but instead, have a great day, you hear?
