A Drop of 50 Plus Degrees.

Old Man Winter is trying to get into East Texas.  Yep, so far it has dropped over fifty degrees and is suppose to get a little cooler before morning.  Of course, it is too early in the season for it to last very long, maybe a day or so.  I guess we have to have a few cool days just to get everyone in the mood for the holidays (grin).  I thought it was quite refreshing and brings back memories of when I lived up north in western Pennsylvania.

Just now, the TV news had the weather forecast and they said that the temperature is dropping and will continue to drop all night until it gets down in the 40's.  In fact, they said it would be in the 40's all day tomorrow.  Brrrrrr.  What a change.  The high yesterday was in the 80's and the high today was in the 70's.  I guess that there is one of those "blue northerns" blowing in from the arctic.  They say that there is nothing between here and the arctic except for a few strands of barbed wire.  Oh well, I will bundle up and stay warm and around here, the weather changes quite quickly (except in mid summer).  Now, you all stay warm and have a great day, you hear?

  1. Yesterday I turned off the air conditioner during the say for the first time since moving back down to Phoenix metro area in October. Today I've has the furnace on, during the say and not just for a few minutes to take a chill off. Can we just stop somewhere in the middle?

    1. Yes, somewhere in the middle would be just about perfect.

    1. Hey Gorges, I lived the first part of my life in Pennsylvania and we always hoped that there was a good tracking snow for deer season which began around the first of Dec.

    1. Should stay there for a few more months. That would give the rest of the states to warm up. My son has a work project in North Dakota. Not my choice of a place to spend the winter.

  5. I am ready for some cooler temperatures as long as they only last for no more than a couple of days...and that is usually the case in Texas.

    1. Brrrr. Please keep that extra cold weather up there. We are not prepared for something that cold. The pump and pressure tank for my well just sits out in the open. I do, how ever, throw a tarp over it and if it is going to get down to freezing temperatures. I also put a light bulb under the tarp.

  8. Here in the North Georgia mountains, it was just below freezing this morning. Expecting snow this Friday. Might be the same front that dropped your temps.

    1. You are probably right on that front being the same that dropped our temps. Throw another log on the fire and keep warm.

    1. My son worked a job on the north shore of Alaska where he could look across the water and see Russia. He said it was really cold and there were a lot of polar bears looking at him as lunch.
