Wondering about the Jeep.

I spent yesterday working on the Jeep.  I borrowed a second jack from my son and with the one that came with the Jeep, I worked at getting it up high enough to replace that blown tire.  The ground in my yard was soft, so had to put a board under each jack.  By alternating raising one jack and then the other, I finally got it high enough to remove the tire.  This is what the right front tire looked like on the jeep:

Here is the spare on the right front.  It is ready to drive now.

Ok, now comes the mess with the insurance companies, the one for the Jeep and the one for the Motor-Home.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

  1. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new plastic thingy an' install it yourself instead of paying a insurance deductible an' the possibility of your insurance going up?
Now the motorhome is a different story. Somebody gonna make a gazillion off'n ya.

    1. The reason I reported it at the time, I didn't know the extent of the damage. Today I took it for a ride to the Post Office. It smelled hot when I got there but not after I got home.

    1. It must have either gone off the edge of the pavement or found a big sharp hole. Don't really know.

    1. Yes, while towing. I left a black streak down the road and then some smoke.

    1. Sure did, and it still smells like burning rubber. Now that is a fast jeep, it can burn rubber (grin).

  5. Holy smokes, DD, while you were under the motor home ,did you see a family of gremlins armed with chain saws and machetes living amongst the machinery ? With all the dues you've paid, you ought to have smooth sailing on the next 37 trips. Hope your repairs are quick and easier than it first appears.

    1. Yep I did. I tried to chase them all away, but must have missed a whole bunch of them.

  6. I say you were very fortunate that rim did not catch on fire and not only burn the Jeep but caused damage to the back of the RV.

    1. There is always a bright side. It could have been worse and it could have happened far, far away.
