Oumuamua

Going to try this again.  Last night I tried to post a blog but when I hit the button to post, it just went away.  I just gave up and went to bed.  So, I am going to try to write another blog posting, hope it works.

Today's blog is about Oumuamua.  Have you ever heard about Oumuamua?  No, it ain't a person, or a city, or a place, or a lake.  So, what the heck is it?  I will give you a hint.  In the Hawaiian language it means “messenger from afar arriving first”.  No, it isn't the mailman, it is a cigar-shaped asteroid about the size of a skyscraper.  Here is a picture of it:

I am not sure, but I believe these are artists renditions of what it should look like.  Astronomers have been keeping an eye on it because it has swung through our solar system before and it may very well do it again.  Last time it didn't hit any planets, let's hope the next time, if it comes back, it will keep on missing the planets.  Here is a map of its trajectory:

Space is a dangerous place and quite dynamic.  We never know what it will throw at us but if there is something coming and we can detect it far enough out, maybe we could be able to deflect it enough to miss us and our neighbor planets.

OK, even though it is raining here right now, I am going to have a great day and I want you to have a great day, too.

A One Cool Day

Today and tonight will be quite comfortable around here.  It only got up to 77 degrees today and is suppose to get down to 63 degrees tonight.  I am enjoying that, for sure.  But, like all good things, it is not going to last.  It will be back up into the mid to upper eighties for the rest of the week with the nights only cooling off to around the seventy mark, plus or minus a degree or two.

By the way, I have been enjoying my new computer.  I think I have it broken in already, and yep, I like it a lot.  Since I am a typist, the full size keyboard on this laptop was a selling feature for me.

Maybe tomorrow, I can come up with a interesting post.  Who knows?  You will just have to check in tomorrow and see what I have decided to post about.  Right now, I have no idea.  Hey, you all have a great evening, you hear?

I'm Back.

No, I didn't die, but my computer did, again.  This time I purchased a new one.  My old laptop had a 17 inch screen and I found out that they are hard to find, but I managed to find this one.  I never heard of the brand.  It is a Lenovo.  And so far, it works very well and in fact it is faster than my old one.  Maybe that is because it is brand new and has lots of empty storage space. . . so far.

Anyway, I just wanted to take time to explain why you haven't heard from me for awhile and that I am now back.  Sorry, but you can't get rid of me that easily.  Now, you all have a great day, you hear?

One of My Very Favorite Songs.

I can't listen to this song or even read the lyrics without shedding tears.  It is one of my favorite songs done by one of favorite singers.  The song is "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill.  It is a beautiful song and no one could do it better than Vince.

Just go to this link    http://www.metrolyrics.com/go-rest-high-on-that-mountain-lyrics-vince-gill.html  and you can read the lyrics.  Scroll down to the bottom and of that page and you can click on the link that says "Play "Go Rest High On Tha…""  Vince did a fabulous job on that song.  Guess I will have to go wipe my eyes now.  Don't know why it affects me so much.  Maybe it is because I lost a son some years ago.  Let me know what you think of that song and if it affected you as much as it did me, but still try to have a great day, you hear?

What I Would Say If. . .

I got thinking what I would say under certain conditions:

1.  If I were a Fitness Instructor  -  -  "The harder you work, the more you lose".

2.  To a kid making a face at me - - "You keep that up you will grow up to be as ugly as me".

3.   To keep a kid busy - - "Look up there in the sky, see that dead bird?"

4.   If someone asks you if you know what time it is, say yes and walk away.

5.   If someone insults me - - "I don't know what makes you so stupid, but it really works."

I could come up with a lot more, but I would prefer to hear some from my readers, list some of your "what you would say if" in the remarks and have a great day, you hear?
