My wife loves to do jigsaw puzzles. Here is one that she just completed last night. You would think that it would be easy, but it wasn't. I helped a wee bit. Yes, I found two pieces that fit and my wife did all the rest. Of course my two pieces were very, very important. . . yeah, sure (grin).
She has about a dozen of them, so it is one down and eleven to go. There sure is a sense of accomplishment when a person completes putting a puzzle together. Some people may think that it is a waste of time, but those same people sit for hours on end watching TV. Hey, if you have free time, you should be able to spend it any legal or moral way that you want to. Now, you all have a great day, you hear?
So now I want to pick up a jigsaw puzzle my own self. I find them relaxing. Something non competitive to do with the lovely wife. I'm sure I could find at least two pieces. . . maybe.

DeleteI have done many over the years, they can be fun and or frustrating, but still great once you have one completed.
ReplyDeleteIf they were not a little frustrating, they wouldn't be worth doing at all. We all like a challenge, but one we can get done.
DeleteJigsaw puzzles and adult coloring books are great relaxers it seems to me.

DeleteI recently bought one of those roll up clothes for puzzles that allows you to put it away without taking it apart for your next session. Maybe with the new rig I'll actually have some room to do one.
ReplyDeleteI would have no place to do a puzzle in my diesel pusher. In my home, we set up a card table which works fine.
DeleteI've always loved working jigsaw puzzles, and all my kids love them too. That and crossword puzzles. Both exercise your brain, and are much more interesting than anything on TV!

DeleteI do 2 puzzles on line every day we have Internet.... Along with a couple of crossword puzzles... I really think that making your brain work keeps a person more on tune with reality. But then... Sometimes I wonder if reality is really where I want to be?

DeleteWhen I was young, I could only view puzzles as a pointless waste of time. Now that I'm old, I wish I could convince Joe to work on one with me. A waste of time? Everything is a waste of time unless you're curing cancer.

DeleteIf she has not tried one, she should get a Wasgij (jigsaw backwards) puzzle. The puzzle you put together is the reverse perspective of the picture on the box. That would be, for instance, an animal walking toward you in the picture would be walking away from you on the puzzle you put together. Great fun if you are a puzzle person.

DeleteLove em. Hardest one ever was a small one, like 300 pieces, same picture on the back but just a tiny bit off so it had to be on the right side. Ive never seen another one any where like that. I got it at a thrift store and yeah, it had 2 or 3 pieces missing, but didnt matter for me. My nephew asked if i ever finished it, (yes) so i gave it to him when he was older.
