I, too, loved Merle Haggard music. I'm not really a fan of "today's" country/western music, but I love the Johnny Cash, Mere Haggard, Marty Robbins etc days of old.
I agree. I love to pick the old Merle Haggard songs on the guitar. He had some good ones.
I always loved Merle, too soon gone, So sad.
He had a great career and wrote and sang some of the best songs of the time and as far as I am concerned, still are.

I'm not a total country music fan (love Bluegrass) but I did like Merle Haggard. He wasn't much older than I am, and that sure feels weird!
I am not far behind him in age, also. Yes, my Sirius Radio is always set on the bluegrass station.
