Wondering about a great way to start a trip.

Well, we got off to a good start.  The weather was great.  Having a mid-winter warm spell.  See the temperature before we left home:

Even the dogs had their things packed and ready to go:

And then this happened:

A picture is worth a thousand words, right?  Hope your day went a little better than mine, but either way, have a great day, you hear?

    1. The Jeep was towed back home and we went on. I just got back from walking one of the dogs. It is still warm. Cold front expected soon.

  2. Don't think you'll be repairing that tire! Was it a blow-out?

    1. Didn't go far, the Jeep trouble put an end to that. We just went to Huntsville State Park. It is about 30 to 40 miles from my home.

    1. We were heading north on Interstate 45 and just south of Willis, TX is where I discovered it because people would pass me and point back at the Jeep I was towing behind the motorhome. by the time I hot stopped it was smoking. The picture tells the rest of the story. We were heading for Huntsville State Park. We went on our way after the flat bed wrecker took the Jeep back to my place and dropped it there.

  5. Glad you are able to continue your trip without the Jeep. That must have been something to see.

    1. I sure could have gone without seeing it, but since it happened, glad I got stopped in time before it caught on fire.

  7. At least you got stopped before it decided to catch afire. Replacing the tire and some minor body work is a lot cheaper than replacing the Jeep and the rig.

    1. Yew, we were very lucky. I think on the way home I will take the back roads and bypass the interstate's road construction area.

    1. It is always best to count one's blessings instead of his problems. I am lucky that I didn't get any more damage than I did.
