Now comes the hard part!

Now comes the hard part!!!  The Northeast, especially New York City and the New Jersey shore, will be trying to clean up the mess left by Sandy and get things back to normal, if that is possible.  It will take a long time to asses the loss of lives and even longer to get things back to normal, if that is even possible.  Winter is coming on and that will greatly increase the problem.  Somethings can never be replaced, some building will never be rebuilt, some people will never return; Sandy was a life changing disaster.  It seemed very strange to me to have such a huge storm this time of year and form and travel that far north.  I would like to see a scientific study of the mechanisms that caused this storm to do what it did.  Maybe weatherunderground.com will have some additional information.  My wife discovered that site a long time ago and we have found that as far as weather is concerned, it seems to be the best spot to get accurate and up to date information.

The excitement and terror has faded and now depression will set in for many.  The extreme amount of work needed to clean up and restore things is mind boggling.  Where does one begin and when?  Like I said above, now comes the hard part!!!  You all have the best day that you can today, you hear?

  5. Our only child lives in Brooklyn many lost their homes and over in Queens the fire took the homes they were being flooded right before their own eyes, police and firemans home no less. How horrible I say the Hell you will ever know is here on earth there could be no greater Hell to lose your own family (familia) trying to escape that Hurricane, material possessions are nothing compared to the loss of a human life and doggies and kitteh cats too..oh, my God..We were able to speak to our only each day, she was frightened but never left her apt. got the super to take out the 2 air conditioners so they would not blow inward and crush her or her kitteh cat, she got it done, rode out the storm in her huge bathroom and only left it to check if everything was okay in the place, it was God saved her, many came to her walk up apt, they had no place to go, she saved them too, she stocked up on food and managed to get 3 pizzas from a pizza place closing up for a buck can you imagine loaded pizza's she gave the guy her last 20 and got them home and also a pkg of water and had a feast for 2 people who lost their apts. could not even get into them..The kitteh cat cried, she got the medicine to calm her and wrapped her up in a pillowcase and rocked her like a baby, they were all safe..thanks to God for that, I prayed and prayed like I never did...Many lost everything, billions lost in no work, they don't pay if you don't show up on many jobs in NYC our only was to fly to LA and then to Seattle we were to see her she could not get out stuck she went into survival mode and God saved her& friends and her sweet kitteh, miracle yes..take care.!happy holidays too!

  7. Dizzy -
If you listen to someone who's even dizzier than you (Al Gore) the superstorm Sandy was brought on by man in the form of Global Warming - I say hogwash! Yeah - lots to clean up and regroup, but folks are resiliant, and life will go on, if not just the same as before, then maybe better.
Prayers for all those up north.....
