Wondering about re-purposing and green art.

My wife just has to be making something or creating something artsy.  She is a multi-talanted  gal who has to be doing something creative when she is not on the QVC web site.  Of course she can do her artistic projects while watching QVC on the TV.  Last night she finished a project which took a lot longer than it should since she didn't have a circle cutter and had to cut all those circles out by hand.

I was getting excited when I saw her gathering up some road maps.  I figured that maybe she was ready to go on an extended RV trip.  Boy was I wrong!!  She was destroying those maps!!!  But I have to admit, she made some interesting looking art work out of them.  Here, see for your self:

I know she used more than one map.  I think one was Ohio because I see Cleveland on Lake Erie on one of the circles.  I should have known she didn't want to take a road trip in the RV, so she was destroying the maps!!!  OK, now that we got that straight, here is a close up view of a section of her project:

My wife wanted me to tell you that she got the idea from Favecrafts.com and that she didn't think it up herself.  She usually comes up with her own ideas and they have turned into some great pieces of re-purposed or green art.  Now, you all have a great day and do something artsy, you hear?

  5. I like the AAA maps and get a new set every 2 or 3 years, but I never throw away the old ones. I have boxes and boxes of maps!

  7. Your wife is very creative and detail oriented, bet it took hours to do.

Now why would you all have bought a fancy RV if you have no plans of going anywhere?

  9. Hi DD and Ruth,
Now what are you going to do with all those little cut up maps?
I draft in Live Writer as I can do it off line, and publish later. It has more options for font, format, picture size, position, etc., too. It is also easier as the pictures stay where you put them!!
