Wondering about Curiosity.

First, I would like to mention that today is the third Friday the thirteenth this year.  I wonder what numerologists would think of that, or anyone who wonders about the numbers three and thirteen.  OK, back to the subject, Curiosity.  I am always curious but I am not talking about that.  Do any of you remember what took place back on November 26, 2011?  No, it wasn’t when I brought home my new RV; that happened a few days after the twenty-sixth.  A rocket lifted off Cape Canaveral that was carrying a new, updated Mars rover called Curiosity.  This trip to Mars is just about over.  It is due to land on Mars in the early hours of August sixth.  Remember the two twin rovers, Spirit and Opportunity?  They awed us with wonderful close up views of what the Martian surface looked like and they could travel around taking pictures and samples.  But they were limited in what all they could do because of their size.  Instead of toy sized rovers like the previous three (remember Sojourner back in 1997), this one will be the size of an automobile and with a lot more capability to test what it finds and to go further and faster to find these things.  It is designed to last one Martian year, about two of ours, but should go on a lot longer than that.  Landing something that large and heavy on Mars will be no easy task.  If any of the many stages malfunctions, it will be all over before it can get started.  So let us all cross our fingers and hope to wake up on August sixth to the news that it landed successfully.  And I sure hope all of you have a very successful Friday and a great weekend, you hear?

Can't really say that I remember those twin rovers. But you have to keep in mind that I suffer from CRS :)

  5. MsB, somethings get better with age and CRS is one of them, memory is not. I now know that is true.

  6. Dizzy I think you are confused. CRS means Can't Remember Sh*&...which has to do with memory.

You are right memory does not improve.
