Started out by going to the Flea Market and walking all through the outside (under roof) tables and then going inside and going all through it. I got to talk to a lot of old friends and you know, I didn't purchase anything. Then I came home and took a walk around my place and when I passed my daughter-in-law's goat pens, I reached over and scratched their heads. You know, they repaid me by taking a bite out of my beard and believe it or not, they ate it. I guess they thought that I needed a little trimming.

I am having trouble with my charger for this lap top, so am going keep this short and say good night for now. Have a great night, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com71tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-70213329690825801492020-01-23T16:06:00.000-06:002020-01-23T16:06:16.092-06:00My Back Yard.My son is back up on the Northshore of Alaska. He can download to his phone pictures from some of his game cameras that he has placed around our place. He called and we talked about a lot of things. He told me about seeing a couple of Coyotes on the camera just behind my fenced in back yard.

He then sent me an email with the picture attached. So, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words:
<strike></strike>

Sorry, they were not polite enough to turn around and smile at the camera. Anyway, you can see them walking away and that is at the edge of my pond. Since my son has a small farm on the back of my place with chickens, rabbits, ducks, goats, etc., I assume that his animals were what attracted them, or maybe not. I am sure coyotes have been around here a lot longer than I have. Now, you all have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-87758073576808502602020-01-19T19:14:00.001-06:002020-01-19T19:14:55.649-06:00Just Had a Great Time.My son called me and told me to take walk down to his place that my grandson, his wife, and their son were there for a visit. It sure didn't take me long to get my rear down there. My son built a big bon fire and we all sat around talking and telling our experiences. My grandson got back from Africa and has some time off. My son is on his "off" time from working at the Northshore of Alaska. Everyone, including me, had a good time. It is wonderful to be able to visit family. It worked out this time that both of them were home at the same time. I would call it a good day today.Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-73924418304548165772020-01-18T14:25:00.001-06:002020-01-18T14:27:17.349-06:00A Walk Around the Property.My son came up to see me today and said that I should walk around the property with him as he checks all his game cameras. I thought that was a great idea and away we went.

He had an adapter so he could pull out the chip in the cameras, put it in the adapter that was connected to his phone and look at and/or download the pictures. There was quite a few pictures, mostly of squirrels and rabbits and coons and possums, deer, ducks, and of course the one next to the drive way had a picture of me taking the garbage out to the dumpster.

In the past he has even got pictures of intruders, either walking or driving in. It is a good feeling to know that there are friendly eyes watching all over my property. He also has newer, more expensive cameras that transmit the images to his phone on command. I feel a lot safer now and also glad to see the wild life is still thriving on my place. Come see me and I will take you for a walk around the place. Now, you all have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-64496956244913204742020-01-09T14:09:00.003-06:002020-01-09T14:09:37.629-06:00To Make Matters WorseMy old mother always said that nothing is so bad that it can't get worse. You know, she was right. Our oldest dog, who was my wife's dog, is not doing too well. My wife picked him out of a litter and he sat beside her in her chair until my wife passed away. He sure does miss her. When I come in the house, he goes to the door waiting for her.

Last night, he had a lot of trouble. First, his breathing was labbored and it sounded like he was snorting. Then he screamed and had a sisure. He fell over on his side and shook. So, the first thing this morning I called the vetinerian's office and they said bring him in for a 10:30 am appointment today. I thanked them for getting me in right away. Of course, he was his old self at the vet's. So, they had to take my word for what happened. Said they could do lots of expensive tests, but if I agreed, they would just put him on Prednisilone. I am to start out with one tabblet daily for seven days, then one half tablet a day for seven days, then a half of a tablet every other day for two weeks, then a half tablet every three days for long term maintenance.

I sure do hope it works. I only have thirty pill, so will have to get it refilled, although it says no refills. We will cross that bridge when we get to it. Now you all pet your pets and have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-15360435455578187742019-12-29T19:24:00.000-06:002019-12-29T19:24:32.312-06:00Ok, Got a Plan.OK, here is the plan. I sure miss my wife and I want her back, so I have sure fired way to get her to come back from heaven. I have let the dirty dishes, pots, and pans pile up in the double sink. If anything will bring her back that will. I now have to wash a pan every time I want to cook something and then usually use plastic spoons and Styrofoam bowls to eat what I cooked. Hey, it seems to be working for me, just don't look at the kitchen sink. Now, you all have a great evening, you hear? Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com29tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-23644383900353305872019-12-25T18:58:00.000-06:002019-12-25T18:58:24.215-06:00Christmas at Tammy's.My daughter-in-law, Tammy, invited me to her home for a Christmas dinner of venison chilly and, yum yum, it sure was goooood. My son is still on the north slope of Alaska and couldn't make it home for Christmas, but he will be home soon for a few weeks. I even was given some gifts, an easel and blank canvases. So, I need to start painting again. It has been quite awhile since I did any paintings.

Tammy called my son, Rodney, while I was there and I got to talk to him. He said it was a minus thirtyseven degrees there at the time we were talking. I can't imagine it being that cold. Yep, I guess I have been living in Texas too long, grin. It was a good day and I hope all of you had a great Christmas day, also.Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com41tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-71207356871344991322019-12-21T14:28:00.001-06:002019-12-21T14:28:39.914-06:00The pillow on my wife's side of the bed,
still has the imprint where she lay her head.

I just can't bring myself to disturb it,
If anyone does, I will have a fit.

So some of you may think I am crazy.
But others will think I am just lazy.

This house is loaded with the things she made.
A lot of those things she sat and crocheted.

So for now, will leave things the way they are.
Though some of you may think that is bizarre.

But this is my home so don't you forget,
I'll do things my way so don't you dare fret.

Things will never be the same here at home,
So we will jump in the RV and roam.

The two dogs and I will take a long trip.
Will stay on earth cause don't have a spaceship.

Want to visit relatives and old friends,
At least one last time before my life ends.

Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-80022529139738517332019-12-13T10:11:00.000-06:002019-12-13T10:11:01.304-06:00Planning a TripI have been planning a trip for this coming summer. I know I am getting up in years and can't have too many left, so I would like to take one last trip back to Pennsylvania where I was born, raised, grew up and married, and had two sons. I still have a lot of cousins and good friends that live there and would like to see them again. It has been way too long.

My daughter-in-law said that she would love to go with me and help with the driving. If my son is home at that time, he would go also. That would make three of us who have a license to drive that heavy of a vehicle. Sure would make the trip a lot easier and a lot more fun. If my son is still working on the north shore of Alaska, he said he would fly from up there to Pennsylvania. I am sure looking forward to that trip. I would enjoy just riding in the diesel pusher for part of the trip instead of driving it the whole way myself. Since it is self contained with lots of batteries and also a diesel generator, if we want to stop, we could stop almost anywhere and have all the conveniences of home.

I hope my relatives and friends in Pennsylvania will be as anxious to see me as I am to see them. I hope it all works out and the round trip will be pleasant and safe. I am sure looking forward to that trip, it gives me another reason to hang on. Now, you all have a great day, you hear? Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com32tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-861743922026345152019-12-10T15:42:00.001-06:002019-12-10T15:42:18.636-06:00Brought My Wife Home TodayMy son and I went and picked up my wife's ashes at the undertaker's today. I brought her home and sat her in front of the fireplace at my eyes' level so I can look right at her. And oh yes, I am still shedding a lot of tears. Soon, it will be time for me to get a grip on life. It isn't fair to my other family members if I don't. I know that they worry about me. My dogs are still moping and not eating much. She is really, really missed.

My plan is to keep her ashes there by the fireplace until I pass away, then I will be cremated and my son will spread both our ashes around the path where we used to walk together. Sometimes she took extra walks or multiple trips around the place. She had kept herself in good shape until her surgery. I can't believe that I outlived her and I never wanted to. I have to go blow my nose, so you all have a better day than I am having, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com31tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-61626328212836309762019-12-01T17:54:00.001-06:002019-12-01T17:54:06.208-06:00Oh No, I can't take much more.Wasn't my wife's passing away enough? It was actually almost more than I could stand and it hasn't gotten any better. Then today our dog, (We always consider him her dog, since she picked him out of a litter and he was with her all the time. Even layed beside her when she was sitting in her chair.) Cang Le, is having lots of trouble getting around. He can't seem to stand up and when he tries to walk, he goes in circles. He is now breathing regulary, although panting hard, as he lays beside me in my rocker/recliner. I will get him to the Vet's in the morning. I held him up and he ate most of his dinner. That is a good sign. I sure didn't need this right now. I guess trouble and hart break comes in bunches. Now, you all have a better evening than I am have having.Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com32tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-80805046041184146552019-11-29T20:38:00.002-06:002019-11-29T20:38:32.475-06:00Evening with FamilyMy son and his wife built a big bon-fire and my grandson brought his wife and son (my great grandson) to visit. Had a very enjoyable time, but got tired and came home. Nothing helps heal a broken heart better than family.

They have just been so wonderful and helpful to me at this time in my mourning and sadness. I am so blessed. They and my dogs are now my reason to try and go on. I hope you all have a blessed day.Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-56557181402576569382019-11-20T10:41:00.001-06:002019-11-20T10:41:04.279-06:00Crying My Eyes OutMy wife of over 50 some years just passed away last night with me holding her hand. I got needles stuck in me drawing blood or injecting medicines. In fact they stuck me so many times that I no longer cast a shadow. I am sure my shadow will return just in time for me to go back in the hospital to have the other artery reamed out. Sure having lots of fun, yeh, right. Now, you all have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-20242384970751328802019-09-27T21:11:00.001-05:002019-09-27T21:14:28.413-05:00In Case You Missed MeIt has been a few days since I last posted. In case you are wondering where I have been, I will explain. I just had my third heart attack (yes, I had a couple of other ones, the first one I didn't tell anyone, the second one I had in Wal-Mart and made it home and the last one (also in Wal-Mart) I went to the doctor's who sent me to the hospital.)

I am now the owner of three stents in one of the arteries to the heart and have to go back in a couple of weeks so they can do the other one. They operated on my heart by going up through my groin. I was awake through the whole procedure and could watch what was going on inside me on the monitor. Quite an experience. Now, I hope you all are having a great day.Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com28tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-36803809792123434862019-09-22T11:59:00.001-05:002019-09-22T11:59:37.105-05:00Added More Information.There seems to be some doubt to the contents of my last blog posting. I did clarify the info in answers to a comment, but thought I would do so here in today's post. The black grackle with the one white tail feather that I posted about has a scientific name, which is "leucistic or partial albinism". Look it up, it explains it and has lots of pictures. Here is one of them:

I hope that clears up any misunderstanding. Now, you all have a great day, you hear? Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-41175485034786969982019-09-14T11:32:00.000-05:002019-09-14T11:32:11.039-05:00Nature Came Up With More surprisesI looked out the kitchen winow at the bird feeder and there was whole flock of grackles out there enjoying their lunch. They were all black with a tint of purple showing except of one. One of them had a long white tail feather on the right side of its tail. It sure did stand out in a crowd, or should I say it stood out in the flock.

They were gone before I could get my camera. They returned later but without the one with the white feather. So, you are just going to have to take my word for the white feather in the tail of a Purple Grackle. Now, you all have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-82137689003414300612019-09-11T13:40:00.001-05:002019-09-11T13:40:09.344-05:00What's Going On In The Briar Patch.

There must be some funny business going on in the briar patch. I found this five leaf cluster that seemed to be divided into two halves. Two and a half leaves are yellow and two and a half are green.

Here, see for yourself:

Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. Now, you all go out side and see what surprises Mother Nature has cooked up for you and make sure you all have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-3735152893496567152019-06-13T10:13:00.000-05:002019-06-13T10:47:33.001-05:00My Wife Called Me A. . . .I was having my usual breakfast this morning. I put plain yogurt in my bowl and then add a few spoonful's of sugar. I stir this up until it is well mixed. Then I add both Honey Bunches of Oats and Cheerios and to moisten it, I add cranberry juice. Hey, don't laugh until you try it, it is really goooood.

As I was adding the Honey Bunches of Oats, I spotted a huge flake. I had never seen a flake that big, so I pulled it out and took it over and showed my wife. I asked her if she had ever seen a flake that big and that I had never seen one that large. Of course she came back with "it takes one to know one". That was a good comeback which I had never expected and I laughed and laughed. So, today starts out with "wife one - me zero". Now eat your breakfast and have a great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com27tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-52001362053361600842019-06-06T10:55:00.003-05:002019-06-06T10:55:41.644-05:00Tools With Multiple Uses.<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Some tools can be used for more things than what they were designed for. You know, like the claw hammer. The claw part makes a wonderful backscratcher for parts that you can't reach. There is always an itch that finds that small part in the middle of your back that no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to reach it.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Other tools and possible options are:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">A screw driver.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can be used as an icepick.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can be used as a chisel.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can be used to open paint cans.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can be used as a pry bar.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can be used as a weapon
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- and many, many more.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 32px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">A hand saw.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">- it can cut non-metallic stuff.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">- some people can even make music using a bow.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it is good at cutting straight lines.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: 32px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">A coping saw.<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: 24px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">- it can also cut non-metallic stuff.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can cut curved lines, etc.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline; float: none; font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: 32px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">A wrench.<span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"><strike></strike>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it can be used to tighten or loosen nuts and bolts.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- an adjustable wrench is a must for plumbing.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">- and of course, someone always throws in the monkey wrench to mess things up.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 32px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">A claw hammer.
<span style="font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: large;">- it also works to put a robber out of commission. (grin)
<strike></strike><span style="font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial","helvetica",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I could go on and on but I think I will stop here and let you fill in all the missing tools and their uses. Now, have a great day, you hear?
I would try to describe them to you but a picture is worth a thousand words and I sure don't feel like typing a thousand words, so here is the picture:

Now, ain't they purty? We both thought that it was really nice that she would do that and we both appreciate her kindness. Now, you all have great day, you hear?Dizzy-Dickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-14857400876860161982019-05-20T10:53:00.000-05:002019-05-20T12:26:01.082-05:00Phew, Got That Done for this Year.My wife needed to get her driver's license renewed which runs out on her birthday in a few days. We got up at 06:00 so to be there early before it opened. Guess what, everybody and their brother and their sister and their mother and their father and their grandparents, etc. were already there. The line stretched for a long LONG way. Yep we had some wait time but after it opened, the line started moving in short start and stop movement.

After waiting in line for all that time, I decided to get mine renewed, also. Since mine will run out on my birthday next February, why not do it now and not have to come back and stand in that long, long line again. It actually was not all that bad. Most of the people in line were willing to start up conversations, which helped the time fly by faster. Glad to have that done and it will be awhile before we have to do it again. The only test we had to take was an eye test, which we both passed and I did it without any glasses. You see, since I had my cataracts removed, I have implanted lenses and I chose the type for distance viewing. Yep, I need reading glasses for close work like writing this blog. Now, you all have a great day, you hear?
