I was about 6 or 7 years old. That cat eventually had Mother wrapped around his paw. We named him Goliath because he was so scrawny, and he grew into a large, handsome cat. Our sweet neighbor was out mowing his yard one day and a rock flew out of the mower, hit Goliath in the head, and killed him instantly. Nobody was sadder than Mother. But he served his purpose, which was to bring Mother and cats together. Thanks for a nice story.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06826144253232267217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-7370404105368878482010-11-02T18:46:47.250-05:002010-11-02T18:46:47.250-05:00Ben, I think you have a valid point there. Cats are special, juat ask one. I had one male and two females. Even though the male was younger and neutered, he protected the two girls.Dizzy-Dickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-12046524344682536412010-11-02T13:55:59.360-05:002010-11-02T13:55:59.360-05:00I love all the cats that I've had dearly, but ...I love all the cats that I've had dearly, but the one I knew the least, would still bring in a gift of a dead bird to me every time I visit my family.

My mother got her some 6 months before I moved out into my first bachelor pad. Of course, I went out and got a cat for my own almost immediately.Grant Wagnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00366349480592207557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-27767056847183769072010-11-02T12:08:28.377-05:002010-11-02T12:08:28.377-05:00I've always contented that we lowly humans don...I've always contented that we lowly humans don't get to choose a cat, THEY choose us!!
And richer in life is he who is chosen :-)Ben in Texashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09068952818736489066noreply@blogger.com
