To me, this is fact, and while I refuse to comment about long term effects, I can't understand how people simply choose to ignore it. Please don't take my word or any other's on it, do your own investigation with open eyes.Grant Wagnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00366349480592207557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-30629535051749870552011-06-14T08:06:21.175-05:002011-06-14T08:06:21.175-05:00When I read this, I was really angry, so I did som...When I read this, I was really angry, so I did some research. I came up with two ugly truths.

#1: for all of our attempts at lowering greenhouse emissions, as a nation we haven't reduced it AT ALL until 2008. From 2007 to 2009, we reduced our greenhouse output by 600 million tons.

#2: The united states NET production of green house gasses is about 5.6 Billion tons, that is what we contribute to the world after every plant on US soil takes a breath.

http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/emissions/usinventoryreport.html

As for volcanoes, the annual estimate of all the worlds volcanoes is that they produce approximately 200 million tons of greenhouse gases. That's a lot less than 600 million in savings in the past two years.

To compare with a single eruption of Mount Pinatubo in1991, a much bigger event than the Icelandic volcanos. A total of 20 million tones of SO2 and 40 million tons of CO2 were released. Again, a total of 60 million tons is less than 600 million saved.

http://pubs.usgs.gov/pinatubo/self/index.html

This issue has repeatedly been measured and confirmed by scientists the world over. Our world IS warming, and places everywhere are suffering from some of the worst weather in history. From Midwestern flooding, north east snow storms, and Texan droughts.

This is a matter of the wise person studying and understanding the facts, and the foolish choosing to believe what they want to. Sorry for the rant, but this is the same ignorance that allowed slavery for so long in this country. My respect for every one of you has fallen significantly.Grant Wagnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00366349480592207557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297986341537650775.post-72293446028903264672011-06-12T12:48:25.368-05:002011-06-12T12:48:25.368-05:00Oldfool, you only have to look skyward at night to...Oldfool, you only have to look skyward at night to realize just how insignificant we and our Earth are.

Ernest, glad you agree. I don’t know what to say bad about baseball teams, I don’t watch that stuff, just top fuel drag racing. . .

Ben, I am not sure if Al Gore is big enough to influence Mother Nature (grin). He did have some wild ideas. We think way too much of ourselves and falsely blame our selves.

Frann, Boys will be boys. St. Helens blew up, the sky was darkened and western states sent out snow plows to move the ash off the highways.

When was the last time you saw a snow plow, plowing car and truck emissions off the road?

We used to call it 'Weather' but now its called 'Climate Change' which was originally called 'Global Warming'!

Climate Change and Global Warming sound much more ominous than just plain ole "Weather'!

You can't scare people by saying 'Its the weather'! But say, its 'Climate Change' and now you got 'em scared!

People will believe whatever they want to believe!

It doesn't matter it is, you can tell them the truth but that will do no good, their mind is already made up and they don't like being confused with the facts.

It akin to 'Sports Team' idolatry!
